There’s a lot of Internet myths about old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo, and in this Aloe Rid detox shampoo review, I’m going to explain the truth about how powerful this shampoo really is.
The big question is around if it’s the best detox shampoo, and whether it’s powerful enough to remove drug toxins, so you can pass a hair drug test, on its own?
So let’s do a detailed Aloe Rid review, to tell you it’s history and ingredients, whether it works on its own, or if it will only work as part of the Macujo method.
What Is Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo?
Old style Aloe Toxin Rid was made by a company called Nexxus originally. The idea behind it was that it was a powerful clarifying shampoo.
It was designed for use for swimmers to get rid of chlorine, and also the people dealing with hard water mineral build up in the hair, plus people wanting to get rid of industrial impurities that could damage the hair.
But the problem was, that it was too good. It was so powerful, that it could leave peoples scalps irritated. People questioned whether it was safe, and rather than try and justify it, Nexxus changed the formula to make it milder.
The problem was, that the formula change busted people who were using it to pass hair drug tests. Because it was so powerful, in combination with other products, it was capable of busting open the hair shafts and removing toxins, without destroying the hair.
Note I said they change the formula, they didn’t stop making it. So the first point to make in this Aloe Rid detox shampoo review, is don’t go and buy a bottle, because you’ll be getting the new formula, which doesn’t contain the active ingredients the old style Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo contained.
The Active Ingredient That Makes Aloe Rid Detox Shampoo Special
The original Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo contained several active ingredients that made it powerful.
One of the main ones was propylene glycol. This is an artificial chemical that is used in a variety of industrial and domestic products. But crucially, it can strip toxins from the hair, without damaging the shafts.
This ability is in contrast to most hair products that can achieve this, which achieve this because they contain ammonia. Ammonia is damaging to the hair, and people using detox methods that contain ammonia in the process, like the Jerry G method, sometimes find it rips their hair to shreds.
Literally, they ruin their hair and damage the hair follicles forever. I’ve seen evidence online of people who have irretrievably damaged their hair using the Jerry G method. That’s why I didn’t even consider giving it a try.
Can Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo Pass A Hair Drug Test?
Now, this is an important point. On its own, old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo cannot pass a hair drug test.
Let me explain what needs to happen, to get rid of drug toxins from the hair. Each hair on your head contains three layers:
- The cuticle, consisting of layers of small scales
- The cortex, that contains most of the pigment
- The medulla, which is the core of the hair
The top layer, the cuticle, consist of thousands of tiny, overlapping scales. This makes it strong and flexible, and it protects the layers underneath.
When toxins from drugs attach themselves to the bottom of the hair follicles, they grow with the hair, inside the cuticle. So to get drug toxins out of your hair, you have to open up the cuticle layer, and then flush out the toxins. That’s very difficult to achieve, and even Nexxus Aloe Rid can’t do it alone.
Aloe Toxin Rid + Macujo Method
Any decent Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo review will not try and claim that it’s capable of blasting out toxins from your hair on its own, so you can pass a hair follicle drug test.
If you’ve seen any Aloe Rid reviews claiming you can, then you know that those sites are not to be trusted. They are just trying to sell you hair products. The truth is there is not a single drug test shampoo on the market that is capable of opening up the hair cuticle, gently removing the toxins, and then allowing the hair to be conditioned on its own.
However, you can pass a hair follicle drug test if you use old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo as part of something called the Macujo method.
Let me explain. There are two methods known to work for opening up the cuticle, stripping out the toxins, and then conditioning the hair.
The first is the Jerry G method. But that relies heavily on ammonia. You have to bleach and then dye your hair multiple times using the Jerry G method. People have found their hair literally falling out, and never fully coming back using this method.
The second is called the Macujo method it’s similar in that it uses a range of products to open the cuticle, strip out the toxins, and then condition the hair. But the combo of products that uses is more forgiving, and Aloe Rid shampoo doesn’t rely on ammonia to strip out the toxins, it’s the propylene glycol that gives it the power to do that, over multiple applications.
How To Do The Macujo Method
I’ve already posted a detailed guide to the Macujo method.
But briefly, the steps of the Macujo method are as follows:
- Wash your hair thoroughly with warm water.
- Liberally apply good quality vinegar, like Heinz vinegar, to your hair. It will sting, but keep working it into the hair and scalp.
- Apply a good amount of Clean & Clear Pink or another type of salicylic shampoo. Work it in well, and don’t worry about it stinging.
- Put on a close-fitting shower cap, or swimming cap, and leave the mixture of vinegar and shampoo for about 30 minutes. It’s going to sting, and your scalp will go red, but don’t worry it’s not dangerous.
- Wash your hair thoroughly with warm water to remove all traces of the vinegar and shampoo.
- Wash your hair with old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo. Use plenty of it, work it in really well, and leave it on for about 15 minutes before washing it off again. Then repeat the process again. This is the key step, as the cuticles will be opened, and the shampoo can strip out the toxins.
- The final step of the process is to use a few drops of Tide or similar detergent, and wash your hair with it, until it feels squeaky clean. That may sound weird, but when it happens, you will know what it means.
- The final time you do the Macujo method, a couple of hours after, and just before you go to submit your hair sample, is to wash your hair with Zydot Ultra Clean. This will ensure that no loose toxins are present, ruining all your hard work.
My Experience With The Macujo Method
The first time I did the Macujo method was last year. I watched a video on YouTube that seemed genuine. That was rare because most of the stuff on YouTube is just trying to sell you hair products.
But from that video, plus my research, I followed the detailed, proper, instructions for the Macujo method. I had a job interview coming up and it was going to need a hair follicle drug test to get it, which was unusual, but it was a well-paid job.
I did the Macujo method seven times:
- Three times on Monday (morning, afternoon and evening)
- Three times on Tuesday (morning, afternoon and evening)
- One time on Wednesday just before my test
- I then used Zydot Ultra Clean
Each time I made sure I used old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo. I’ve read it’s the best detox shampoo for the Macujo method, essential in fact, so I invested money in buying some.
I actually washed my hair with it three times, rather than twice when I did the Macujo method the final time on Wednesday. I don’t know if that made any difference, but as I was short of time, (you’re meant to do the Macujo method over a week, and far more times in total I did), so I did it anyway.
The bottom line is my hair sample was clean. That’s amazing, because I am a heavy weed smoker, and always have been.
So the Macujo method + Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo works, and it’s well worth investing time, effort and money in. You’re likely to only face a hair follicle drug test for a high paid job, or for something legal, so you aren’t going to be taking risks with that type of drug test, or I would hope you won’t?
Where Can I Buy Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo?
Unfortunately, if you want to know the answer the question: where can I buy Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo, then you’re going to be disappointed.
You can’t buy original formula Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo any longer.
You might be wondering how I’m telling you that when you could have seen it for sale on places like Amazon, and eBay.
Well, it’s probably fake. Or it’s the new formula from Nexxus being mis-sold.
The bottom line is that it was discontinued years ago, and stocks of the original formula were definitely depleted some time ago.
You might get lucky, and you might get your hands on an original bottle, but you’re going to be gambling about $200 to do it.
For me, I would never risk of buying a bottle of old-style Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo now. The risk is just too great. Plus, like any product, it will deteriorate over time, and as this stuff hasn’t been made for years, it’s going to be very old stock. I just don’t think it’s worth such a risk.
So does that mean that the Macujo method is dead because you can’t get your hands on old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo? The answer I’m sure you’ll be delighted to hear, is no.
Where To Buy Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Drug Test Shampoo
Having now told you that if you’re wondering where you can buy Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo, the answer is no you can’t buy it, the good news is that the formula has been recreated by another company.
The company is called Test Clear. These aren’t some random guys who are going to take your money and run, having created a poor replica.
Test Clear has been around for years, and are a very reputable company. They sell lots of good quality products, things like detox drinks, and Toxin Rid detox pills. They also have research on their website, which can really help you if you’re looking to pass a drug test.
What Test Clear realized, is that there is a massive market for the original formula Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo. Basically, they worked with another company to create the old formula, and they packaged it into their own product, which is called “The old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo”.
This is where I bought old style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo when I did the Macujo method, as I explained earlier.
In fact, I bought a combo deal that Test Clear have on offer. You can get a bottle of Aloe Rid detox shampoo, plus Zydot Ultra Clean shampoo for a low price. I say a low price, the combo is $235.
But if you’re up for a job that requires a hair follicle drug test, or it’s a legally enforced test, then that sort of money is going to be peanuts, when compared to the rewards of a high paid job, keeping your freedom, or not being smashed in an insurance case.
So the conclusion of this Aloe Rid detox shampoo review is an honest one. You can’t cleanse your hair, even with the best detox shampoo, on its own.
You need a combo of products, which when put together in the Macujo method, can open up the hair cuticle, strip out the toxins, and then condition the hair, without causing lasting damage, or making it obvious you’ve doctored your sample.
